This role is responsible to direct the development and evolution of data, analytics tools and processes, execution systems, business processes, and reporting needed to create, implement, and evaluate retail pricing strategies that deliver to company performance objectives. This role will also provide leadership in the planning and creation of analytics, execution tools and reporting needed to offer and perform pricing services for independent retail customers. Additionally, this role will support the evolution of tools needed to execute data hosting functions. This role will serve as a Product Owner for pricing related IT and BI projects.
Here's what you’ll do:
Responsible for delivering material impact to the organization’s performance by partnering with pricing and other cross-functional leaders to define the data, tools, processes and systems needed to achieve optimal pricing
Develop advanced analytical models to evaluate the performance of pricing strategies across all corporate retail banners
Oversee the analysis of pricing programs by evaluating the current pricing strategies, competitors' pricing data, market and consumer insight information to measure program effectiveness and make pricing recommendations and offer changes.
Lead competitive data management strategies including acquisition, cleansing, accessibility, and vendor management to ensure the Analyst team has access accurate, timely, and complete data.
Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to improved pricing data integrity.
Identify opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance retail pricing and data hosting software and work cross-functionally (i.e., Distribution, Shelf Technology, IT, Procurement, etc.) to implement improvements to meet company goals and objectives.
Engages and partners with leading external service providers, where appropriate, to ensure the pricing department is continually exploring innovative business techniques, processes, and tools to better manage pricing strategies and decisions, provide customer value, and achieve sustainable competitive advantages
Participate in cross-functional business initiatives working with appropriate business units to align business strategies and communications of such initiatives.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance or a related field.
Ten years Pricing Analytics, Finance, Category Management or related experience.
Five years of supervisory experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work cross functionally and with all levels in the organization.
Excellent organizational, prioritization and analytical skills.
Strong presentation, attention to detail, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to maintain a strong customer focus and a high degree of professionalism when dealing with internal customers and leaders.
Strong understanding of pricing and promotional principles and best practices.
Ability to identify operational issues and recommend and implement strategies to resolve problems.
Working knowledge of developing and executing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
