Learning Opportunities

We provide development opportunities and custom learning content based on each Associate’s individual needs, skills they want to learn, and career aspirations. This includes resources for newly hired Associates, Associates looking for further development, Associates looking to become leaders, and current leaders looking to grow and sharpen their skills. Development resources include books, articles, courses, workshops and more!

Career Development Programs

We are committed to investing in all Associates at each stage of their career, empowering everyone to do their best work and feel like they belong.

Aspire

Aspire is designed for Associates not currently in a leadership position but looking to be considered for a leadership position in the future. This digital program offers workshops and on-demand courses to develop the skills needed to be considered for and thrive in leadership positions at SpartanNash.

Propel

Created for high-potential mid-level managers, Propel participants take assessments, attend conferences and trainings, and develop a relationship with a mentor to promote growth and development for themselves and their teams.

Excel

In Excel, high-potential senior leaders take part in an experiential learning plan, including business simulations, leadership assessments, coaching, mentoring and presentations from the executive leadership team.

Elevate

Elevate is an introduction-to-leadership program for all frontline people leaders in our Retail and Supply Chain business units, providing them with the skills and experiences they need to ensure success.

I GROW

SpartanNash's Early in Career program – called I GROW – targets Associates who are between 0-3 years out of college. The program is designed to help grow confidence, sharpen skills and foster meaningful relationships for the next generation of our workforce.
