Position Summary:

This role is responsible to oversee pharmacy operations in Retail stores ensuring that the Pharmacy systems operate efficiently and accurately. Ensure operations of the pharmacy department are in compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures and state and federal laws. Provide leadership to pharmacy staff to enhance the performance and ensure the pharmacy is appropriately staffed.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Responsible provide guidance and support, to communicate and ensure compliance regarding Company policies, programs and directives that apply to the Pharmacy Department in the retail store. Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best pharmaceuticals practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance.
  • Ensure proper merchandising of the Pharmacy Department with Company policies and procedures; regularly inspect stores for compliance.
  • Inspect assigned Retail stores for compliance with Third Party plan requirements.
  • Identify operational issues; recommend and implement changes to control cost and maintain product quality.
  • Support pharmacy stores to meet budgeted labor, inventory, and volume goals.
  • Partner with other internal Pharmacy Operations Manager(s) to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout retail pharmacies.
  • Responsible to maintain awareness of competition activity, implement needed actions and report to department management.
  • Ensure the OWN IT! (One customer to Wow Now by Interacting and providing Total satisfaction) service programs and all customer service programs are implemented and followed in assigned stores.
  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Pharmacy or related field required. Doctorate degree in Pharmacy preferred.

  • Five years of experience in pharmacy operations with demonstrated management of corporate pharmacy programs within retail pharmacies.

  • Pharmacy License (in good standing) required in the state of operation.

  • Three years of experience in a supervisory / management role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.

  • Ability to solve problems with high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to lead and teach others the fundamentals of pharmacy operations.

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy laws and state and federal regulations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel up to 80%.

The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
