Senior Paralegal

Position Summary:

The Senior Paralegal role is responsible for collaborating with department attorneys to provide legal services to the Company by responding to inquiries, providing litigation support, and assisting with various transactional matters.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts necessary to operate the Company’s business including both purchase and sales contracts.

  • Draft, review, and file documents necessary to maintain the Company’s Uniform Commercial Code filings.

  • Assist with the review and drafting of legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda, etc.

  • Assist with litigation discovery, including collecting and reviewing internal documents across various departments

  • Conduct legal and factual research for department attorneys.

  • Assist with developing processes for the most efficient resolution of legal matters.

  • Administer various systems for legal file storage, billing, and other administration. Experience with Legal Tracker preferred.

  • Resolve and respond to certain legal issues with direction from attorneys.

  • Oversee the maintenance of and updates to the department litigation report.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with and act as a liaison between attorneys, associates, outside counsel, government agencies and business representatives.

  • Work with executives and other area administrative assistants as necessary.

  • Assist with special projects and assignments as requested.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Five (5) years of paralegal experience with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a corporate environment preferred. Must have demonstrated knowledge of paralegal concepts, procedures, and practices.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of legal terms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills, and ability to work a flexible schedule to meet varying deadlines.

  • Must have attention to detail, and strong analytical and research skills.

  • Ability to apply discretion and judgment and must be able to handle and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Works both independently and effectively as a team.

  • Proficient computer and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) skills.

  • Ability to travel as necessary.
