Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the maintenance of facilities for of assigned company retail stores; follow defined procedures and processes relating to repairs and/or replacements of equipment and fixtures.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Responsible for preventative and corrective facilities maintenance; troubleshoot, diagnose and inspect facilities to determine repair and maintenance needs of equipment and fixtures.

  • Repair and/or replace fixtures as necessary (i.e., carpeting/tiles, walls, doors, cabinets, light bulbs, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, test and inspect (audibly and visually) facilities equipment to determine need for repair.

  • Dismantle, install and repair systems and/or components, perform welding and electrical repairs, and assemble and test facilities equipment to ensure correction of necessary repairs and maintenance.

  • Apply technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as written diagrams, manufactures' manuals, etc.

  • Maintain accurate and timely inventory of parts and equipment on trucks, and documentation of maintenance records.

  • Assist and/or provide training to technicians as necessary.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; ensure work is completed in a timely manner, and ensure consideration of store operations, associates and customers.

  • Ensure assigned locations/retail stores meet safety and code requirements.

  • Participate in facilities/real estate projects as assigned (i.e., remodels, new store openings, etc.).

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Technical Degree (Required), Technical school certification (electrical, carpentry, etc.). Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years maintenance technical experience with a combination of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, etc.

  • Certification in Refrigeration, HVAC, etc. Preferred.

  • Must be able to listen to and visually inspect facilities equipment and fixtures in order to diagnose maintenance needs.

  • Ability to read schematics.

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects.

  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work assignments and meet established deadlines.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures, environmental and building codes requirements, etc. Prior experience in retail maintenance a plus.

Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
