Position Summary:
Responsible to perform a variety of general accounting responsibilities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, in accordance with GAAP, to provide accurate and useful information for management review and decision making.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Responsible for general ledger maintenance to include, journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation, and assisting with accounting close process, while ensuring such is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in preparing financial statements to include monthly balance sheet, income statement and report on changes in financial position/budget variances.
Assist with reviewing assigned operating budgets and research and explain variances; assist in the preparation of budgets used in measuring, planning, and controlling business operations and provide for management review.
Prepare bank entries and perform periodic bank reconciliations.
Partners with stores and/or operations to resolve identified variances.
May assist accounting clerks engaged in general accounting activities.
Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best accounting practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company compliance.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Bachelor’s Degree (Required) in Accounting or Finance or another related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
One year of Accountant/Accounting experience strongly preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good organization and analytical skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
General knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in MS Office (Access, Excel, Word).
