Supporting Special Olympics
SpartanNash has a 36-year partnership with Special Olympics, and has raised over $9 million to support the athletes in the communities we serve. We are also proud to have many Special Olympians within our family of associates.


Hiring military and veteran associates
One of our core values is patriotism, and SpartanNash is committed to hiring military service members, veterans, their families and caregivers. We have been recognized as a Veteran Friendly® Employer for our commitment to hiring, training and retaining those who serve. We also have a Veterans Associate Resource Group that works to serve veterans in the communities where we live and work, as well as support our co-workers in their careers. Our veteran associates and their families help us attract and retain top service members. Our military and veteran associates enjoy support, networking, education, volunteerism and training.

We partner with local colleges, universities and trade schools to ensure candidate diversity and work diligently to attract and retain top talent. We offer programs for development, networking and growth. Recently, SpartanNash named two additional women as executive officers, boosting our C-suite representation to 30%.
